About the Role As a Senior Interaction Designer at Google, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing innovative products and services that set industry standards. You will be responsible for creating user-centered design solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Your expertise in UX/UI design will be crucial in shaping the user experience of Google's products, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and meet the evolving needs of users. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver creative, insightful solutions that exceed user expectations. Communicate the client experience at various stages of the design process through wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes, ensuring clarity and precision. Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Advocate for the prioritization of design-driven changes, refinements, and enhancements, ensuring that user needs remain at the forefront of product development. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should possess: A four-year college education in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 6 years of experience in product design or UX, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions. Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and build UI mockups and prototypes. A portfolio that showcases a variety of projects and your direct contributions, demonstrating your expertise and versatility as a designer. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, having the following qualifications can further enhance your candidacy: A graduate degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 4 years of experience in product design or UX, with a focus on complex, cross-functional projects. 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization, navigating multiple stakeholders and priorities. 2 years of experience leading design projects, with a proven ability to drive projects from concept to completion. 1 year of experience working with executive leaders, influencing product design strategy and direction. Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms like desktop and mobile (Android and iOS). The ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a client-focused design process, driving innovation and growth. Skills in communicating and influencing product design strategy, with the ability to articulate design decisions and recommendations.
