Job Summary As a Senior Engineer - Remote Customer Service Representative with Aviation Engineering Focus, you will play a critical role in providing engineering support to the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop customized procedures for repairs and maintenance activities. Additionally, you will provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Key Responsibilities Conduct training sessions for engineers and technicians in areas of expertise Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians Lead project teams and facilitate issue resolution Collaborate with manufacturers and regulatory agencies to validate engineering procedures Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities Stay up-to-date with daily airline operations, reviewing needs and priorities to ensure alignment with departmental targets and management directives Investigate and troubleshoot aircraft and part issues, determining corrective actions to prevent delays or cancellations Provide engineering support to resolve discrepant situations affecting aircraft or parts Respond to requests from maintenance and other airline departments for technical assistance Develop and execute activity plans for fleet or multi-fleet engineering projects Coordinate with other airline departments to ensure effective and efficient execution of engineering procedures Maintain records and documents to implement technical procedures, providing customized methods for repairs and maintenance activities Stay current with regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with material standards and company manuals Requirements and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A bachelor's degree in an engineering field or related discipline 1-2 years of experience in a related engineering field or equivalent experience without a degree Aircraft and Propulsion (A&P) license Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines Skills and Competencies We are looking for individuals with: Strong technical skills and knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
