Job Overview We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Customer Engineer to join our team, specializing in aerospace composite materials and manufacturing technologies. As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will be the principal technical interface with our customers, providing expert advice and support on material and process selections, and promoting arenaflex products and technologies. You will lead concept development activities, assess technology gaps, and provide guidance on future product and process development. Key Responsibilities Develop and nurture new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned with market and customer needs Lead concept development activities for new opportunities, coupling material, process, and part design Act as the principal technical interface with customers, providing expert advice and support on material and process selections Assess technology gaps and provide guidance on future product and process development Promote arenaflex products and technologies, articulating value propositions to customers Advise on materials and process selections for new composite material applications Lead and support projects requiring material manufacturing, prototyping, and part builds Provide field technical support to major aerospace OEM and subcontractors for new and legacy programs Identify and lead resolution of material issues in aerospace composite shops, acting as the "Voice of the Customer" to liaise with the greater part of arenaflex Support simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance Identify potential new applications for arenaflex products and support Account Managers in capturing new business Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering or Material Science discipline (minimum) A Master's or PhD degree is a plus Knowledge of aerospace composite part fabrication Experience resolving product and process capability issues in composite part applications Minimum 5 years of demonstrated work experience in composites, including problem-solving, technical presentations, project management, relationship building, and identification of new opportunities Minimum 2 years of experience reviewing composite part designs/drawings for manufacturability and specification compliance Understanding of the aerospace industry, including OEMs, their suppliers, various programs, aerospace quality systems, composite testing requirements, statistical process control, and capability Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with thermoset prepregs, thermoplastics, adhesives, primers, and surfacing films Familiarity with processes including autoclave, out-of-autoclave, press-molding, and resin infusion Ability to support trade studies and provide recommendations on product options and selection based on customer parts and applications Experience with simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to travel up to 25%, with some overnight stays required Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
