[Remote] Software Engineer-Kubernetes

They are seeking a Software Engineer to join their Cloud Platform Engineering group, responsible for developing and maintaining backend infrastructure for Kubernetes clusters on multi-cloud platforms. Responsibilities • Build, maintain, and scale Go clients/projects and their support tools • Contribute to New Relic infrastructure to develop and manage it • Contribute to Open Source and get the chance to grow your reputation and skills • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, and research new tools and services to solve sophisticated problems properly • Ship incrementally and often, helping the team to maintain a constant flow of feedback on its work • Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach—teams build and maintain their own software, including participating in second-layer support rotations Skills • 2+ years of professional work experience in software development and/or operations • BS/MS in Computer Science, or education/experience in a relevant field • Hands-on experience coding in programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Bash • 2+ years experience with containerization tools- Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, Crossplane, etc • Solid background in application and system programming, and Linux system administration • Involvement in building Infrastructure as Code (IAC) • Willingness and the ability to pick up and learn new coding languages • Deep understanding of security, reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness of distributed systems on public cloud providers like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google GCP • Experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Travis CI, Circle CI • API design and development exposure with Go programming language • Experience in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure or GCP • Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and concepts such as virtual machines and containers • Active participation in open source development Benefits • Healthcare • Dental • Vision • Parental leave and planning • Mental health benefits • A 401(k) plan and match • Flex time-off • 11 paid holidays • Volunteer time-off • Other competitive benefits designed to improve the lives of our employees Company Overview • New Relic is a digital intelligence company that delivers full-stack visibility and analytics to enterprises.
