[Remote] Finance Specialist - Accounting & FPA

RemoteHunter is a fast-growing fintech organization seeking a Finance Specialist with expertise in Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This hybrid role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes while collaborating across teams for timely financial reporting. Responsibilities Assist with general ledger maintenance to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules Assist in the preparation of US GAAP-compliant financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules Perform recurring accounting activities such as account reconciliations and transaction reviews Support accounts payable processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies Prepare and maintain documentation for external audits, including schedules and reconciliations Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies, internal controls, and automation initiatives Help update and maintain the financial model to support forecasting and budgeting Support preparation of monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards for leadership Act as a cross-functional business partner to build models supporting ad-hoc strategic initiatives Assist with routine variance analysis to identify and explain performance against plan and prior periods Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong accounting coursework 1-3 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and/or corporate finance and accounting roles Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and nested formulas Comfortable working across both accounting and FP&A functions Good understanding of US GAAP and internal control principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal Experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite Enthusiasm for process improvement, automation, and emerging technologies including AI Benefits Flexible paid time off.
