Database and Systems Specialist

Legal Aid at Work (LAAW) is dedicated to empowering low-paid workers and marginalized communities through advocacy and legal support. The Database and Systems Specialist will maintain operations of Salesforce and provide support for database-related design and troubleshooting, ensuring strong data hygiene and system functionality to meet organizational needs. Responsibilities Be responsible for maintaining case management and client tracking systems (e.g., Salesforce/JusticeServer and other tools such as Form Assembly, SharePoint, and Twilio) Ensure technical completeness and consistency of data entered by staff across Programs and various departments Develop and implement best practices for data collection, entry, and validation to maintain high data integrity In cooperation with LAAW’s Development department, regularly audit data for quality control and compliance with grant and regulatory requirements Generate accurate and relevant reports for Programs and other departments in a timely manner Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Operations and Technology on implementation and enforcement of a digital document retention policy Serve as the primary administrator for the organization’s database management platforms Train staff on technical data entry protocols, system use, and best practices Troubleshoot technical issues related to databases and reporting tools Assist the Assistant Director of Operations and Technology, in partnership with leadership and Programs, to develop data strategies that enhance service delivery Provide insights and recommendations to improve workflows, case management efficiency, and client outcomes Collaborate with LAAW staff and external vendors to optimize data systems Skills Demonstrated commitment to social justice and civil rights work; a passion for Legal Aid at Work's mission of seeking justice for low-wage workers Intermediate level knowledge of Salesforce; ability to learn new systems and platforms quickly One to two years of relevant work experience in data systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Exceptional follow-up and follow through with a keen attention to detail Willingness to ask questions and share ideas Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing competing deadlines, communicating proactively when issues arise Ability to self-start and troubleshoot independently, while also working well in collaboration with colleagues Ability to learn and improve new systems and software quickly A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to hold and foster difficult and necessary conversations about sex, race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and other protected categories Benefits Health plans Long-term disability and life insurance 403(b) retirement plan Generous paid vacation and holidays Company Overview Legal Aid at Work provides legal services to people.
