About the Role: Information Researcher - RWE We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team as an Information Researcher - RWE (Real World Evidence). As a key member of our Scientific Affairs team, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality RWE through advanced analysis and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. Your work will have a significant impact on internal and external decision-making, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve patient care. Key Responsibilities Mine raw data sets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data sources or licensed platforms, analyze and interpret results, and help shape research methodology. Collaborate with various members of the Walgreens Clinical Trials team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization. Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD to uncover new insights into patient populations and treatment outcomes. Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address scientific questions from biopharmaceutical companies. Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies. Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE studies and analyses. Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external use. Conduct a reasonable level of diligence on new real-world data suppliers/vendors and drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. Knowledge of common statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, clustering and partitioning, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time-series analysis, and survival analysis. Experience handling large datasets from multiple data sources. Experience handling protected patient health information. Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus: PhD or graduate degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases. Knowledge of clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode). Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR). Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or arrangements. Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics. Understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques, ability to continue self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
