Remote Bookkeeper (Extreme Detail-Oriented, Native English, Client-Facing)
This role is not for the faint-hearted. If you’re looking for a cushy job with predictable days and light workloads, do not apply. We manage fast-moving entrepreneurs, shifting priorities, and a constant stream of deadlines — and we do it with excellence, accuracy, and calm. We are only looking for someone who thrives in pressure, juggles dozens of moving pieces without dropping a ball, and can confidently manage 20–25 clients at once while keeping the books spotless. If that scares you, good — it should. If it excites you, keep reading. Overview You will own a full portfolio of clients. Not assist. Not support. Own. That means you’ll project-manage their deadlines, follow up relentlessly, keep books tight, and know exactly what’s happening in every account at any moment. This is a demanding role with high expectations. We move fast. Clients move faster. And you must move faster than both. Responsibilities Manage 20–25 Clients Without Excuses Track every deliverable, reconcile every account, and stay ahead of deadlines. Follow up with clients consistently — even when they’re slow or unresponsive. Keep your portfolio organized and moving, without anyone needing to chase you. Doing weekly updates with the team. Handle the Technical Work with Precision Monthly reconciliations (bank, credit card, and balance sheet). Prepare adjusting journal entries + maintain an accurate general ledger. Clean up messy books and make them tax-ready. Generate financial reports with explanations clients can understand. Be the Backbone During Crunch Time Handle payroll across multiple platforms. Troubleshoot issues quickly — we don’t have time for hand-holding. Software Must Be Second Nature QuickBooks Online is your home base. Xero, Sage, Quicken, Gusto, ADP, etc. should not intimidate you. What You MUST Bring Experience managing a heavy client load — not 3 or 5 clients, but 15+ minimum. Ability to handle pressure, shifting priorities, and back-to-back deadlines. Extreme attention to detail — sloppy work will not survive here. Clear communication and the courage to follow up, ask questions, and push for what you need. Solid grasp of accounting principles, GAAP, and reconciliation processes. A proactive mindset — not waiting to be told what to do. If You’re Still Reading, You Might Be the One This job is intense. The pace is fast, the expectations are high, and the workload is heavy. But if you thrive in organized chaos, love juggling multiple priorities, and want to be part of a high-performing boutique CPA firm — you’ll rise here. If not? You will burn out quickly. We’re being honest because we want the right person, not just anyone.
