The Application Support Technician is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining EHR and organizational software systems, providing technical support, and ensuring system enhancements align with development standards. Responsibilities Provide technical support to healthcare providers and staff using the EHR system, assisting with system navigation, data entry, and workflow optimization Address and resolve user queries, ensuring users understand how to use the application effectively Offer guidance on system features, workflows, and best practices to improve operational efficiency Assist users with data entry issues, ensuring accurate and timely information is inputted into the system Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the EHR system, including login problems, data entry errors, and system crashes Process new hire requests for system access and application permissions across relevant systems Handle access requests for terminated staff, ensuring proper deactivation of user accounts and secure data handling Grant and manage user permissions to ensure staff have the appropriate access to relevant tools and data within the EHR system Diagnose and troubleshoot system-related issues, including login problems, data discrepancies, and system performance disruptions Investigate and resolve workflow disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on healthcare operations and patient care Assist with identifying and implementing improvements in EHR system workflows to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction Provide ongoing feedback to help refine and improve system performance and user experience Document common issues and solutions to build a knowledge base for future reference and user training Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified Collaborate with IT teams or third-party vendors as needed to resolve complex technical issues Performs other related duties as assigned Skills Associate's degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred 1–3 years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience, or an associate's degree in a computer-related field Experience with EHR systems such as myAvatar, Netsmart, Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms required Minimum of one (1) year in behavioral health, healthcare IT, or clinical workflows is preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of healthcare applications Skill in coordinating and working with multiple locations Ability to translate business-related and service delivery language to EHR configuration requirements Ability to translate technical concepts to all levels of the organization Proficiency in HIPAA requirements and how they relate to information systems Excellent interpersonal skills Effective written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and analytical processing If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed Travel required based on business need Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism Must be able to pass a seven-year background check Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable) Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states Must be able to pass education verification check Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position) Associate's degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred Minimum of one (1) year in behavioral health, healthcare IT, or clinical workflows is preferred Benefits Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance Access to mental health resources and wellness programs Strong retirement plan with company matching Generous paid time off to support work-life balance Ongoing opportunities for professional development and training Company Overview With more than 51 programs across the U.S. and abroad, RI specializes in Crisis, Health, Recovery and Consulting Services.
