As a federally funded program, we provide academic and personal counseling, career advisement, tutoring, mentoring, and various activities to support the educational enhancement and cultural enrichment of approximately 261 first-generation, low-income students annually. Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Director to oversee the daily functions of our TRiO SSS program. The successful candidate will be responsible for program development, administration, and implementation, including supervision of professional staff, budget management, project evaluation, and relations with the Department of Education. The Project Director will also provide programmatic and counseling support to meet the program's goals and retention objectives. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction to the TRiO SSS program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and program requirements. Supervise and oversee professional staff, including hiring, performance management, and professional development. Develop, implement, and evaluate program services, including academic advising, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring. Manage the program budget, including monitoring expenditures and ensuring adherence to federal guidelines. Coordinate with college departments, including Admissions, Records, and Financial Aid, to support program services. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including the Department of Education and community partners. Provide direct support to students, including advising, counseling, and tutoring. Analyze program data to inform decision-making and program improvement. Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field. Ten years of total work experience in education, psychology, business administration, or a relevant field. Five years of advising experience in a higher educational setting. Three years of demonstrated leadership/supervision skills in a higher education setting. Three years of experience designing, managing, or implementing an SSS or similar project. Experience working with first-generation, low-income students, or students with disabilities. Knowledge of Federal TRIO programs, EDGAR, and OMB circulars. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field. Experience working in a community college setting. Bilingual/Spanish language skills. Experience with student information platforms, such as EAB Navigate, Banner, or Degree Works. Knowledge of the guided pathways model, career exploration, and common transfer programs.
