Job Description The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) Finance Team has a Proactive Financial Risk Analyst opportunity supporting the Supplier Financial Risk Mitigation (SFRM) team. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams including GPSC, Customer Care and Aftersales, Treasury, and Legal to proactively identify and address financial risks within GM’s supply base. The role provides the opportunity to display your financial acumen and strategic agility, while leading the Purchasing organization through the development of risk mitigation strategies. Responsibilities Assess financial strength of supply base via financial statement analysis & business risk assessment Independently lead development of risk mitigation strategies and effectively communicate risks internally Meet with supplier executives to evaluate the supplier's risk profile Provide analytical & strategic support for commercial negotiations Apply analytical skills across a broad range of projects including turnaround plans, restructuring, and operational improvement plans Monitor global and macro-economic trends to identify industry risks and exposure to GM Desired Skills Leverage resourcefulness and independent judgment to drive innovative ideas, concepts, and projects in an ambiguous environment Strong business acumen, analytical capability, and project management / organizational skills Perform balance sheet, net income and cash flow statement analysis, Knowledge of capital structure helpful Proactively work to resolve issues and move projects forward Ability to analyze data to draw key insights Strong people skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting At least 5+ years of work experience in Finance or Accounting Strategic mindset, strong communicator, initiative-taker Comfort working closely with cross-functional teams Clearly communicate complex financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the - Global HQ Warren Mi three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business] Relocation: This role is NOT eligible for relocation benefits.
