MMA Project Engineer

This role will involve developing knowledge in manufacturing metrics, project management, and engineering practices while preparing for a future leadership position. Responsibilities Develop knowledge of key manufacturing metrics and their impacts on the business; seek opportunities to enhance performance to best in class Accompany project engineers on a variety of complexity assigned projects to better understand the engineering process and the mechanical, electrical, and scheduling/organizational requirements for corrugated equipment installations Gain comprehensive understanding of applicable industry governing codes in addition to federal health & safety policies/laws Become educated in project management responsibilities include organizing/planning, scoping & bidding, coordination of schedule, and managing projects Become familiar with the engineering practices used in installation of corrugated manufacturing equipment and/or plant infrastructure improvements Knowledge and understanding of contractor services – mechanical, electrical, and structural Skills Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university is required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project Proficiency with AutoCAD software to create, view and modify drawings for comparative evaluation and final project construction/installation; utilize AutoCAD software to create and modify plant layouts, equipment layouts & foundation drawings for contractor bid packages Direct experience or internship with a manufacturing company is a plus Successful candidates will have problem solving skills, be action oriented, ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities, competency in functional and technical subjects, communication skills, computer skills and the ability to work in a team environment Candidate's ability to travel is required; duration of travel can exceed a week Benefits Medical Dental Life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts Short-term and Long-term Disability 401(k) Company-funded retirement contributions Paid Time Off Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement) Student Loan Repayment Assistance Voluntary Benefits including insurance for home, auto, vision and pets Company Overview International Paper manufactures paper and paper-packaging products.
