Schwazze is a purpose-driven, vertically integrated cannabis operator. They are seeking a Merchandising Data Analyst to support the Merchandising department by ensuring accurate, reliable data and foundational analytics that enable informed category, pricing, promotional, and assortment decisions. Responsibilities Maintain, validate, and monitor merchandising, pricing, and inventory data across multiple systems and retail banners to ensure accuracy and consistency Support item setup, pricing updates, and category data maintenance, including cost, margin expectations, and item attributes Assist with data migration, cleanup, and system integration efforts, particularly during mergers and acquisitions or system enhancements Identify, research, and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring high-quality inputs for reporting, forecasting, and decision-making Partner with the MDA and merchandising leadership to uphold data governance standards and documentation Partner with Retail Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, and Buying to develop, implement, and maintain all point-of-sale (Cova) and eCommerce (Jane) promotions and specials Own end-to-end Cova promotion setup and execution for all retail brands, including rotating monthly promotions, weekly and daily deals, holiday campaigns, and loyalty rewards Build, maintain, and refresh recurring and ad hoc reports, scorecards, and dashboards tracking KPIs such as sales, margin, inventory levels, sell-through, turns, and promotional performance Support competitive pricing, assortment, and market analysis using internal data and external tools (e.g., BDSA or similar) Conduct foundational sales, margin, inventory, and promotional analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities Prepare clear, concise summaries and visualizations that support category strategy discussions, SKU rationalization, and new-item launches Partner with merchandising, category management, operations, and finance teams to support category initiatives and execution Assist in evaluating vendor performance, pricing changes, and cost updates, supporting vendor scorecards and negotiation preparation Contribute to the development and maintenance of assortment frameworks (e.g., Good/Better/Best, tiered pricing), ensuring alignment with merchandising strategy and customer experience Support new product introductions, promotional rollouts, and category resets through accurate data setup and reporting Support the standardization and improvement of reporting processes, templates, and analytical workflows Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and clarity in reporting and data management Assist with adoption of business intelligence tools, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled tools to enhance merchandising insights Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the merchandising analytics function Skills Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, lookups, basic pivot tables, and data validation Comfort working with large datasets and maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency Ability to identify data anomalies and follow structured troubleshooting processes Foundational understanding of retail metrics such as sales, margin, inventory, sell-through, and turns High attention to detail and strong quality control mindset Ability to follow defined processes while identifying opportunities for improvement Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple priorities Ability to work cross-functionally and respond to data and reporting requests with professionalism and clarity Comfortable translating data into basic insights for non-technical stakeholders Receptive to feedback and eager to learn within a structured merchandising organization Curiosity and willingness to develop deeper analytical and merchandising expertise Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving, and acquisition-driven environment 1–2 years of experience in a data, reporting, analytics, or administrative support role Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) or analytics platforms is a plus Interest in category management, pricing strategy, and assortment optimization Experience in cannabis, retail, CPG, or regulated industries is a plus but not required Associate's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field preferred; Bachelor's degree a plus Retail, merchandising, inventory, or pricing data exposure preferred but not required Benefits Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Pet Insurance EAP Programs Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave Employee Discount at all Schwazze Retail locations Company Overview Schwazze provides consulting services for cannabis growing technologies and methodologies.
