Job Highlights Compensation: A competitive salary of $26/hour Start Date: Immediate openings available Location: Remote, based in Georgia, USA Position: Manager, Software Engineering Company: Workwarp, partnering with Disney Streaming Services Job Details As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will play a critical role in leading the development of key services and infrastructure that power Disney Streaming Services' customer experiences. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a diverse software engineering team, driving a culture of ownership and excellence, and collaborating with partners, product and program managers, and engineers across Disney Streaming Services organizations. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain a diverse software engineering team, focusing on training, career development, mentoring, and process improvement Own and design the technical vision for applications and tools Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to prioritize work and set goals for the team Refine engineering practices and maintain operational excellence Demonstrate ingenuity, self-awareness, and excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to move quickly and adapt to meet the changing requirements of the product Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, driving the adoption of new technologies and practices Essential Qualifications 3+ years of engineering management experience 3+ years of software engineering experience Experience recruiting diverse talent, building and leading teams Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, and a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.) Experience with event-driven systems architectures (reactive design) Practical knowledge and significant experience deploying web services in cloud infrastructure Experience writing unit tests/implementing test-driven development processes Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming, Electrical or Hardware Engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications Deep experience with reactive programming on JVM languages, ideally Java Hands-on experience as a service manager with experience building and managing visibility systems Hands-on experience managing AWS services with specific experience using Terraform or other IAC tools Hands-on experience building on and managing distributed NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, Cassandra, Scylla, and Couchbase Experience working with remote global teams and a flexible schedule across different time zones What We Offer As a Manager, Software Engineering at Disney Streaming Services, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects, collaborating with talented professionals from diverse backgrounds.
