Manager, IP Law Implementation
About the position We are looking for a Manager of IP Product to join our IP Laws team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our IP Laws team ensuring the highest quality law content is delivered to our customers. Primarily, the work encompasses the following: Product & Release Management, People Management, Process Management, and Customer Relations. The role involves managing the timely implementation and delivery of IP law updates into our IP Portfolio Management software systems, overseeing testing, executing strategies for updates, and ensuring client satisfaction. Additionally, the manager will lead a team responsible for implementing IP law content, collaborate with various stakeholders, and address customer inquiries with expertise. Responsibilities • Management of timely implementation and delivery of IP law updates into one or more of our IP Portfolio Management software systems. • Oversee that timely & comprehensive testing of the IP law updates in our IP Portfolio Management software systems is being performed. • Execute and develop strategies to keep the relevant Clarivate software products/services up to date with jurisdiction law changes/docketing practices. • Ensure client delight by timely delivery of critical changes and keeping client escalations/post-production issues to a minimum. • Collaborate closely with the Legal Research team within IP Laws to ensure accuracy of IP law updates and requirements. • Collaborate closely with IP Laws Consultants to help facilitate prompt comprehensive responses to our clients. • Assist with the production and delivery of release-related educational materials, including bulletins and webinars, ensuring they are free from significant errors. • Manage the team responsible for working on the implementation of the IP law content into Clarivate software and testing of IP law updates. • Monitor and analyze resource usage to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximize efficiency. • Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for improvement, standardization, and tools to improve efficiencies and accuracy. • Maintain and enhance documentation and best practices on implementation, testing and quality assurance processes. • Assist in the gathering and reporting of post-production issues. Coordinate and participate in Lessons Learned discussions for Portfolio Management systems. • Address incoming customer inquiries with clarity and expertise, including software inquiries and intellectual property matters. • Assist in client meetings which may involve trouble-shooting issues, formulating solutions, and providing education pertaining to IP laws or rules. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience. • 7+ years in the intellectual property industry with solid experience in Portfolio Management software, docketing practice, and IP Law calculations. • 3+ years of People Management experience, ability to attract, retain and develop an exceptional team. Nice-to-haves • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Intellectual Property rules, procedures, and prosecution workflows of the USPTO, EPO, PCT, WIPO and other national and international governing bodies. • Experience in Project Management. • Investigative & analytical skills. • Ability to quickly respond to changes. • Experience with FoundationIP software.
