Morrison Mahoney LLP is a premier litigation law firm in the Northeast, seeking a full-time Associate Attorney focused on civil litigation and insurance defense. The role involves managing a caseload, drafting legal documents, preparing for court proceedings, and collaborating with clients and colleagues to develop litigation strategies. Responsibilities Independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials Engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies Conduct comprehensive legal research and writing memoranda to bolster case strategies Ensure smooth case management alongside seasoned partners and senior attorneys Skills You must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an adequate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction You should have 1 to 5 years of litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or closely related practice area Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions is vital Strong capabilities in performing thorough legal research and responding effectively to discovery requests Strong advocacy skills will be crucial as you assist in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and effective communication are key attributes for success in this position Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) Life Insurance Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts Flexible Paid Time Off Mobile Phone Reimbursement Stipend Associate Education Program Company Overview Morrison Mahoney is a law firm specializing in litigation and business law.
