About the Role This is a full-time, in-residence, academic year (36 weeks), non-tenure track position, with a term appointment funded for three years and an excellent possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024. As a Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the department's mission. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate lectures and laboratory courses in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, covering topics such as reservoir engineering, production engineering, well testing, and well logging. Recruit and train laboratory teaching assistants and lecture learning assistants to be effective members of an instructional team. Create and implement inquiry-based class exercises to enhance student engagement and learning. Assist with curriculum design and assessment to ensure the highest quality educational experience. Participate in departmental activities and contribute to the overall mission of the university. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field by the appointment start date. Teaching experience in petroleum engineering courses and laboratories. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for inspiring students. Preferred qualifications include: Industry experience in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. Evidence of a commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusive excellence, and belonging.
