About the Little Readers Program Our Little Readers program is a half-day, enriched reading program designed for children aged 3-5. This engaging program lays the foundation for future academic success by teaching essential skills such as letter names, sounds, phonics, reading, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and fine motor skills. As a Little Readers Teacher, you'll play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our youngest students. Key Responsibilities Teach up to 5 students at different levels, using our proprietary materials and methodologies Work in-person at our learning center in Cary, NC, and follow our established philosophies and teaching approaches Maintain accurate records by filling in post-lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates Provide a supportive and nurturing environment, fostering a love of learning and promoting self-confidence and self-esteem Uphold a friendly and professional demeanor at all times, ensuring a positive experience for students and their families Essential Qualifications and Skills To excel as a Little Readers Teacher at GradePower Learning, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Early Childhood Education, or related discipline) Some experience teaching or tutoring, preferably with preschool-age students Strong English written and oral communication skills, with the ability to guide students' understanding and adapt to their needs The capacity to multitask and balance working with several students at different levels A teaching certification is considered an asset, and fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application: Prior experience with preschool curriculum and educational programs Familiarity with our proprietary teaching methodologies and philosophies (training will be provided) A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their educational and personal growth What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you'll enjoy: Ongoing training opportunities to refine your teaching skills and stay updated on best practices Frequent check-ins and feedback to support your professional growth and development Hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment A competitive hourly rate of $15 A part-time schedule: Monday-Thursday mornings, 8:30am-12:15pm (preparation time and teaching hours) Our Work Environment and Culture At GradePower Learning Cary, we're committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and growth.
