Junior Mechanical Engineer
Parsons is a leading company in infrastructure projects, and they are seeking early-career Facility and Process Junior Mechanical Engineers. The role involves performing a variety of mechanical engineering tasks, contributing to large-scale projects, and offering strong career growth potential. Responsibilities Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable Prepares standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs Reviews design documents produced by other engineering teams for compliance with applicable codes and owner standards Interfaces with vendors to review submittals, coordinate interfaces, and perform acceptance testing Coordinates with contractors to review completed work, resolve conflicts, and answer RFIs Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials Reviews supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower level Engineers working on the same project Knowledge and interpretation of the International Building Code Knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the oil, gas, and chemical industries Performs preliminary design activities including studies and alternatives analysis Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 1+ years of related work experience Experience in large, complex HVAC projects, including equipment selection and specification, developing and reading control diagrams, and managing equipment lists Experience with large central chilled water plants, including chiller selection and layout, piping, hydraulic calculations, cooling towers, and controls Experience working on interdisciplinary teams to design new facilities and modifications to existing facilities Must be proficient with Navisworks for review of 3D designs, coordination, and clash resolution Working knowledge of CAD/Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering EIT nice to have Benefits Medical Dental Vision Paid time off Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) Life insurance Flexible work schedules Holidays Company Overview ParsonsKellogg has stood apart in the $20 billion promotional products industry.
