You will play a crucial role in providing essential mental health and educational support services to students in South Carolina. This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
Responsibilities
Conduct virtual psychological assessments to comprehensively evaluate students' cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and tailored intervention plans for students with special needs.
Provide virtual counseling and therapeutic interventions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Offer virtual crisis intervention and support services to students experiencing emotional distress or behavioral crises.
Participate in virtual multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students' progress, challenges, and effective intervention strategies.
Provide virtual consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding behavioral management, classroom accommodations, and mental health needs of students.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and communications with students, parents, and staff.
Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of school psychology and virtual service delivery.
Collaborate with community mental health agencies, social services, and other external resources to support students' mental health and overall well-being.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in virtual service delivery, cultural competence, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in South Carolina.
Prior experience working as a School Psychologist in a K-12 educational setting is preferred.
Proficiency in virtual assessment tools, teletherapy platforms, and other necessary technologies for remote service delivery.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a virtual team in a remote work environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, caseloads, and service delivery models.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing special education services and student confidentiality, such as IDEA and FERPA.
Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
