In this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience by efficiently managing appointments, assisting patients with inquiries, and contributing to the smooth operation of our virtual pulmonary care practice. You will be at the forefront of our mission to provide high quality care to individuals, families, and communities, ensuring that all patient needs are met while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency of day to day clinical operations. This exciting and collaborative role requires the ability to troubleshoot and resolve workflow problems with exceptional customer service skills, as well as going above and beyond to create a positive experience. The ideal candidate is a detail oriented team player who is able to multitask and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Patient Communication:
? Answering incoming calls from patients in a professional and friendly manner.
? Assisting patients with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
? Providing information about our services, care processes, and virtual visit instructions.

Appointment Management:
? Efficiently managing the appointment calendar, ensuring proper scheduling and availability.
? Sending appointment reminders and follow-up communications to patients.

Waitlist Management:
? Proactively reaching out to patients on the waitlist to schedule appointments as availability opens up.

Insurance Verification:
? Collaborating with patients to gather and verify insurance information.
? Checking insurance coverage and providing accurate information to patients regarding coverage details.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Handling:
? Utilizing the EMR system, Athena, to access patient records, update information, and schedule appointments.
? Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient data within the EMR.

Process Improvement:
? Identifying opportunities for process improvement and suggesting innovative solutions to enhance patient experiences and operational efficiency.
? Collaborating with the team to implement new processes and refine existing ones.

Must-haves:
? Previous experience as a medical receptionist
? Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
? Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot low-level technical issues independently
? Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions that contribute to process improvements
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
? Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills to handle complex operational challenges
? A passion for innovation in healthcare and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through virtual care

Nice-to-haves:
? Prior experience in pulmonary care or healthcare administration is a plus
? Experience with Athena
? Bilingual in English and Spanish
? Prior experience in a remote working environment
