HIM Coding Supervisor (Remote, but must be located in Kansas City Metro)

- What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage daily functions of facility coding, including coding, abstracting, and provider communication
- Evaluate and modify internal work processes to comply with regulatory standards while protecting patient privacy
- Provide education and support to coding staff and address any coding barriers
- Serve as a resource for data interpretation and coding inquiries from hospital staff
- Collaborate on internal and external hospital projects related to the coding section
- What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of experience supervising staff and managing healthcare workflows
- Must obtain one of the following certifications within 90 days: Certified Outpatient Coder, Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or Registered Health Information Administrator
- How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding systems
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
