We are seeking an experienced In-House General Counsel to serve as a trusted legal advisor to leadership and support our continued growth. Position Summary The In-House General Counsel will oversee all legal matters for IPS Nationwide, with a strong focus on Employment & Labor Law, with an emphasis on California employment and labor law, and workers’ compensation. This role will work closely with executive leadership, HR, and operations to manage risk, ensure compliance, and provide practical, business-focused legal guidance. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary legal advisor for all company legal matters • Provide expert guidance on Employment & Labor Law, with an emphasis on California employment and labor law, including wage and hour compliance, employee classification, leaves of absence, labor relations, and terminations • Oversee and manage workers’ compensation claims, disputes, and strategy in coordination with carriers and external counsel • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, agreements, and internal documentation • Advise leadership on litigation risk, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies • Partner with HR on employee relations issues, internal investigations, and policy development • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel as needed • Stay current on changes in employment and labor laws, particularly California-specific regulations, and proactively advise the business • Support corporate governance and compliance initiatives as required Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar • Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house or advising employers • Demonstrated expertise in Employment & Labor Law, with an emphasis on California employment and labor law and workers’ compensation • Strong business judgment with the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally Why Join IPS Nationwide • Competitive salary plus quarterly bonus structure • Fully remote role (California-based) • Comprehensive benefits package and 401(k) plus PTO & Sick Pay • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping legal strategy for a growing organization Apply tot his job
