Position Overview The role of In-House Counsel, Trademark & Licensing at Atari offers an exciting opportunity to join an established legal team. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities of the In-House Counsel include: IP & Brand Protection: As a key player in the legal team, you will manage Atari’s worldwide trademark and copyright portfolio, which involves various tasks such as: • Filing and renewing trademarks and enforcement actions. • Conducting clearance searches for new products and advising on brand strategy and legal risks. • Coordinating with outside counsel on infringement matters, and monitoring unauthorized use and piracy. Licensing & Commercial Transactions: You will also handle the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of inbound and outbound licensing agreements. This includes agreements for game development and publishing. Key tasks include: • Collaborating with the licensing team to structure deals that protect and grow the brand presence. • Advising on marketing and promotional activities involving Atari’s trademarks and copyrights. Corporate Legal Support: The In-House Counsel will support corporate governance and compliance, providing important legal advice to internal teams across global operations. You will also: • Maintain and update contract templates and best practice guidelines relevant to corporate matters. Required Qualifications To be a strong candidate for this role, individuals must possess the following qualifications: • A law degree (J.D. or equivalent) and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction is mandatory. • 4-6 years of experience at a reputable corporate law firm with an emphasis on trademark law, licensing, and IP enforcement. • Proven experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements is essential. • Familiarity with the video game, entertainment, or consumer products industries is strongly preferred, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills. • A passion for gaming and pop culture is considered a strong plus. Salary and Benefits The position offers a salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 annually, which is competitive within the industry.
