The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an HR Shared Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service to employees as the first point of contact for their Human Resources inquiries. The role involves answering questions, investigating inquiries, and providing administrative support related to HR topics such as benefits, compensation, and recruitment. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to employees as the first point of contact for their Human Resources inquiries Answer questions received via telephone and e-mail Investigate and resolve routine to intermediate inquiries Coordinate with respective departments Escalate complex inquiries to appropriate professional services, payroll, or other staff, as appropriate Handle queries related to a wide range of HR topics including time off, leaves of absence, FMLA, benefits, retirement, compensation, professional development, recruitment, and HR policies Support and aid other HR Shared Services staff in the resolution of requests and the analysis/diagnosis of problems Provide general administrative support such as documentation of calls/emails via case management software, scanning and indexing of employee documents, compiling reports, and processing employee and payroll transactions Skills High degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to demonstrate professionalism in daily tasks Commitment to handling questions and concerns with speed, accuracy and professionalism Sound judgment and discretion in referring inquiries to other HR staff members or units Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written Ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies Ability to prioritize and multi-task General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S Proficiency in Office365 suite Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Robust retirement plans Substantial paid time off which includes holidays, vacation and sick time Generous 75% tuition discount, available to employees as well as eligible spouses and children Company Overview There’s a reason Penn State consistently ranks among the top one percent of the world’s universities.
