They are seeking an entry level Geologist to join their Remediation team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where the role will support site investigation and remediation projects. Responsibilities Field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and sediment sample collection and geological logging and interpretation Task or project management and lead teams for field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and sediment sample collection and geological logging and interpretation Working with subcontractors to deliver services according to contract requirements while adhering to company and client safety standards Assisting with gathering and analyzing geological and hydrogeological data in both the field and office settings Assisting in preparation of written reports, work plans, remedial action plans, site investigation reports, site closures, site management plans, and technical memorandums; analysis of data; and development of supported conclusions Assisting in preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation (text, tables, figures, and calculations) Performing independent hands-on fieldwork, oversee contractors (laboratory personnel, drillers, and surveyors), and other field personnel, and interacting with clients/client representatives Utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, and comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance Assisting with landfill compliance monitoring, including reporting of groundwater and landfill gas remedial systems performance and monitoring data Assisting in the preparation of Health and Safety Plans and identifying hazard recognition during field assignments Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member Skills Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Geological, Hydrogeological, Environmental Sciences or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required Experience in the environmental remediation industry (private or public) OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike Flexible with working hours and locations; frequent travel within 1-2-hour drive of home office and occasionally further Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks Strong research and report writing (including web-based research) Excellent written and verbal skills Strong quality and time management Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work Proficient with basic computer programs; Microsoft Suite Programs Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life AD&D Disability benefits Paid time off Leaves of absences Voluntary benefits Perks Flexible work options Well-being resources Employee assistance program Business travel insurance Service recognition awards Retirement savings plan Employee stock purchase plan Company Overview AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets.
