General Counsel & Litigation (Admitted to Middle District of NC or Willing to Get Admitted Only!) - Contract to Hire
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel on a contract basis to represent our company in active federal litigation before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Our organization is currently pursuing legal remedies after our company was wrongfully taken through unlawful and fraudulent actions. We require an attorney who is not only highly proficient in federal civil procedure, but also capable of managing complex disputes involving corporate ownership, fiduciary misconduct, and related claims. Responsibilities: Serve as lead counsel or coordinating counsel for all matters filed in the Middle District of North Carolina Draft, argue, and defend motions, including emergency or time-sensitive filings Advise on strategy relating to recovery of company assets and remediation of illegal acts Ensure proper service, filings, and procedural compliance Communicate with opposing counsel and the court on behalf of the company Review existing filings, orders, and case history to determine corrective actions Qualifications: Active license in North Carolina and good standing Strong experience litigating in federal court, preferably MDNC Demonstrated skill handling complex business disputes, fraud cases, or corporate recovery actions Excellent written advocacy, strategic thinking, and attention to procedural details • *****Ability to begin work immediately Contract Role — Competitive Compensation If you are a dedicated litigator who can step in quickly, protect our interests, and help us reclaim what was unlawfully taken, we invite you to submit your résumé and availability. • Key Things to Note* Urgent Timeline – Counsel Must Be Retained by December 19 The Court has issued a directive requiring the parties to respond to a specific question by December 19. Ongoing Engagement After Company Recovery Once litigation concludes and our company is restored to us, we intend to retain the selected attorney for continued legal guidance as we return to normal operations. This includes corporate governance, contract review, compliance, and transitional support as we rebuild and stabilize corporate functions.
