About the Role We are seeking experienced and passionate Math Teachers to join our team as virtual tutors for 8th-12th grade students. This role offers the flexibility of working from home, with a schedule that accommodates your availability, particularly during daytime hours (8am-4pm Eastern). As a virtual Math Teacher Tutor, you will provide small group instruction, focusing on algebra and potentially other math subjects, depending on your expertise and the needs of our students. Key Responsibilities Virtual Tutoring: Deliver high-quality, engaging virtual math lessons to small groups of 8th-12th grade students, utilizing online platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom. Lesson Preparation: Prepare for tutoring sessions, which may include reviewing student progress, planning lessons, and using our content or developing your own, with the support of our team. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this rewarding opportunity, you should meet the following essential qualifications: Teaching Experience: A minimum of 2 years of lead teaching experience in math and/or ELA in a U.S. K-12 public, private, or charter school. Credentials: You should be a U.S.-credentialed teacher. Exceptions may be made for retired teachers with recently lapsed credentials but significant classroom experience. Availability: Daytime availability (8am-4pm Eastern) is required, as most tutoring sessions will be scheduled during these hours. Technical Skills: Familiarity with online teaching platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom is beneficial, as well as experience with Microsoft Teams. Bonus points will be given for: Experience in teaching K-12 ELA and/or Math in a classroom setting. Prior experience in online teaching or tutoring. As a virtual Math Teacher Tutor, you can expect: Competitive Hourly Rate: Our tutoring sessions are compensated at a rate of $36.00 per hour (on a prorated basis) plus a 10% bonus for light preparation, totaling $39.60 per session.
