Position Summary and Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Chinese language program, including teaching, curriculum development, and program administration. They will also direct graduate students in the Chinese language pedagogy program, providing mentorship and guidance to the next generation of language educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong research record, a passion for teaching, and excellent communication and leadership skills. Key responsibilities include: Teaching Chinese language courses at all levels, from introductory to advanced, as well as graduate courses in language pedagogy Coordinating and administering the Chinese language program, including curriculum development, program assessment, and budget management Mentoring and advising graduate students in the Chinese language pedagogy program Conducting research and publishing scholarly articles in the field of Chinese language and linguistics Participating in departmental and school-wide service, including committee work and event planning Representing the department and the school in local, national, and international academic communities Essential and Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in a language-related discipline, such as Chinese language and linguistics, second language studies, or language pedagogy.
