Job Summary The Telepharmacy Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Remote Dispensing Pharmacy location, including managing inventory, dispensing prescriptions, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. As a Telepharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for: Overseeing the safe and secure operation of the Remote Dispensing Pharmacy, including serving as a keyholder and protecting the integrity of all pharmacy products Managing pharmacy inventory, including controlled substances, and maintaining perpetual inventory Executing pharmacy ordering and day-to-day inventory management practices, including cycle counts and returns-to-stock Reviewing and acting upon operational communications, including completion of required tasks and activities Providing exceptional customer service, including responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues Facilitating communication with the Supervising Pharmacist and pharmacy team to ensure seamless operations Key Responsibilities Inventory Management As a Telepharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for managing pharmacy inventory, including: Maintaining in-stock inventory by coordinating and monitoring inventory management related activities and policies Helping establish true ownership for inventory management activities in the Telepharmacy Enabling a consistent approach to inventory management and critical inventory functions Reviewing and acting upon inventory reports, including the Inventory Excellence Report Customer Service Providing exceptional customer service is a top priority for our Telepharmacy Technicians. You will be responsible for: Actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge to develop the basic drug understanding and technical expertise needed to accurately and effectively assist customers Communicating effectively with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers Responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Facilitating RPh-to-Patient Communication As a Telepharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in facilitating communication between the Supervising Pharmacist and patients, including: Engaging customers to learn about their health and medications Creating genuine human connections by focusing on service and keeping patients and caregivers top of mind Assisting patients with their questions and concerns and facilitating audio/visual access to the Supervising Pharmacist for counseling Problem Resolution Telepharmacy Technicians must be able to resolve issues and problems in a timely and professional manner, including: Partnering with front store management to drive customer service Identifying and resolving potential problems to ensure customers have their medications when needed Collaborating with the pharmacy team, medical staff, insurance companies, and customers to resolve issues and deliver timely resolution of medication or insurance-related concerns Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Be at least 18 years of age Have a minimum of 1+ year of experience as a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician (may be 2+ in select states) Possess a PTCB National Certification or equivalent state-accepted national Pharmacy Technician Certification Have a high school diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED) Meet state-level licensure requirements Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates who: Have experience working in a telepharmacy or remote dispensing pharmacy environment Possess strong leadership and management skills Are certified in immunization or have experience with vaccination administration Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Telepharmacy Technician, you must possess: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills The ability to work effectively in a remote environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Work Environment and Culture At CVS Health, we're committed to creating a work environment that is inclusive, supportive, and rewarding.
