Job Summary As a Teaching Assistant with Highline Academy, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational experience of our students. Working closely with our grade-level classroom lead teachers, you will help provide a rigorous and supportive curriculum for every student in your assigned grade level. Your responsibilities will include co-planning lessons, supporting special education and interventionist teachers, and contributing to the teaching of the Reach program, writing, Social Studies, and Science. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with grade-level classroom lead teachers to develop and implement engaging lesson plans Support the teaching of the Reach program, writing, Social Studies, and Science to assigned groups Assist with entering attendance and grades into our school learning management system Build positive relationships with students, holding them to high expectations and setting a positive tone for the classroom Manage classes with positive, proactive systems and strong rituals and routines Seek out additional support from staff members as needed to ensure student success Attend professional development sessions and participate with respect and attention Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) Experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or in a similar role Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Highline Academy's mission and values Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families Preferred Qualifications Bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply Experience working with diverse student populations and supporting students with special needs Familiarity with educational software and technology, including learning management systems Work Environment and Culture At Highline Academy, we pride ourselves on creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Compensation and Benefits Highline Academy offers a competitive salary range of $24,000 - $29,664 per year, depending on experience.
