Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and instruct specialized youth and adult classes/programs, including advanced levels Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, curricula, and activities that promote learning and fun Provide guidance, support, and feedback to participants, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience Collaborate with the Recreation Supervisor and other team members to achieve program goals and objectives Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and safety standards, applying this knowledge to continuously improve programs and services Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Considerable experience in teaching or instructing, preferably in a recreation or community setting Relevant education, training, and/or certification in your area of expertise Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to teach and engage participants of diverse ages and backgrounds Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach Essential and Preferred Qualifications In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for candidates who: Have experience working with youth and adults, including those with diverse needs and abilities Are certified in first aid, CPR, and AED, or willing to obtain certification Have a strong understanding of safety protocols and risk management principles Are proficient in using technology, including software and online platforms, to support program delivery and administration Have a passion for community engagement, outreach, and partnership-building Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate: Instructional skills : ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective programs and activities Communication skills : ability to engage, motivate, and provide feedback to participants, as well as communicate with colleagues and stakeholders Leadership skills : ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others, including participants, volunteers, and team members Problem-solving skills : ability to think critically, resolve issues, and make informed decisions Adaptability and flexibility : ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing circumstances, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Gloucester County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
