We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher to join our team in Chattanooga, TN, to deliver small group interventions to students in grades K-8. About the Position This very part-time position offers a unique opportunity for teachers to make a real difference in the lives of students. As an SEL Teacher at arenaflex, you will be responsible for providing in-person instruction at one of our partner schools in Chattanooga, with a focus on small group intervention (Tier 2) during regular school hours. The ideal candidate will be available to work 4 hours per week, with Fridays being the preferred day. This role is perfect for new, experienced, and retired teachers alike who are passionate about helping students overcome their challenges and achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, small group instruction to students in grades K-8, utilizing a prescribed curriculum and the gradual release model of instruction Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans to address the identified skill deficits of students Utilize company-provided materials and educational strategies to support students in reaching on-level academic success Ensure the supervision of students at all times, including escorting them safely to and from classrooms/learning stations Perform data entry in a timely fashion to meet deadlines, including student attendance, online pre/post testing, progress reports, and parent and classroom teacher communication forms Schedule and attend parent meetings/conferences to maintain open communication and collaboration Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by arenaflex, local, state, and federal agencies Maintain consistent communication with arenaflex supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents to ensure a cohesive support system for students Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or a related field Classroom teaching, internship, and/or tutoring experience, with a focus on social emotional learning and intervention Willingness and ability to teach to various grade levels, with a strong understanding of child development and learning strategies Working knowledge of MS Office and Zoom/Teams preferred, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and platforms A passion for helping students overcome their challenges and achieve academic success, with a strong commitment to social emotional learning and character development Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with at-risk youth and students who are struggling, with a deep understanding of the challenges they face and the support they need Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative justice, with the ability to create a safe and nurturing learning environment Experience with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring, with the ability to use data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you must possess: Strong instructional and classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
