Unlocking Potential through Literacy: Join East Side Learning Center's Team East Side Learning Center (ESLC), an independent non-profit organization established in 2001, is dedicated to unlocking each child's potential through the foundation of reading. By adopting AARP Foundation Experience Corps Twin Cities in 2019, ESLC has expanded its mission to include an intergenerational literacy tutoring program. This program brings together volunteers aged 50 and above to guide the next generation of readers, fostering relationship-centered learning, research-based literacy practices, and family empowerment. About the Role: Site Coordinator In-Person - 0.75 Time We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Site Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis (0.75 Time). As a Site Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation and management of our tutoring site, ensuring the success of our volunteers and students alike. Key Responsibilities: Volunteer Supervision and Support: Supervise, support, and guide Volunteer Literacy Mentors at the tutoring site, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed. Site Organization: Organize the site and materials to facilitate a productive and effective tutoring environment. Scheduling and Coordination: Maintain the site tutor schedule, arrange substitutes as needed, and work with Program Managers on initial scheduling. Data Collection and Input: Support Program Managers in collecting student assessment and demographic data, and administer student assessments as required. Student Progress Monitoring: Discuss student progress with Program Managers, Classroom Teachers, and volunteers; provide student progress to Classroom Teachers at conference times. Volunteer Training and Coaching: Coach volunteers to implement tutoring sessions with fidelity to the curriculum and best practices for literacy success. Communication and Reporting: Review Literacy Mentor tutoring session notes, provide feedback, and report any concerns regarding students or mentors to the Program Manager. Participation in ESLC Meetings and Training: Participate in ESLC meetings, Literacy Mentor training sessions, and ongoing training to stay updated on best practices and organizational developments. Essential Qualifications and Skills: Experience Working with Children: A minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children. Elementary School Classroom Experience: Preferred experience working in elementary school classrooms. Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working collaboratively with colleagues. Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Office 365, and virtual meeting platforms. Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt to new technological skills quickly and demonstrate strong organizational abilities. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift boxes up to 20 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in literacy education or a related field. Knowledge of literacy curriculum and best practices for literacy instruction. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role. What We Offer: Competitive Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
