Job Overview We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Data Science Analyst to join our Search and Recommendations Analysis team. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional partners, including engineers, AI engineers/data scientists, and product managers, to drive business growth and improvement. Your primary focus will be on analyzing large datasets to inform our product recommendations, designing and executing A/B tests, and developing new testing and analysis techniques. Key Responsibilities Run exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and opportunities Design and execute A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and procedures Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine underlying drivers, and resolve Build new tools that enable us to be more efficient and effective Collaborate closely with our product, engineering, and AI partners to drive business outcomes Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: 2+ years of professional experience in a quantitative role (in addition to any graduate education) Analysis or Data Science experience with e-commerce companies is a strong plus In-depth experience with SQL (full capabilities, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash, etc.), required In-depth experience with Python and Python tools (Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, etc.), required Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decisions, highly preferred Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms/techniques (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) within a business setting, highly preferred Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we're looking for candidates with: Solid business acumen, analytical skills, and technical abilities, along with problem-solving skills Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with partners Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and drive business outcomes Technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Python, and machine learning algorithms/techniques Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wayfair, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
