Job Overview As a Remote Medical Data Entry and Intake Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as the initial point of contact for our Utilization Review Department, playing a vital role in gathering crucial intake information, establishing electronic patient files, and assisting with the organization and dissemination of certification correspondence. Key Responsibilities Respond to inquiries on the Utilization Review line, directing calls to the appropriate team members and retrieving voicemail messages for the nursing staff in a timely and efficient manner. Collect and document demographic information to create and maintain accurate patient files, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Print, mail, fax, and copy correspondence as required, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail. Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support the team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all interactions with clients, patients, and healthcare professionals are courteous, empathetic, and professional. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with preference given to candidates who have completed coursework in computers, medical terminology, data entry, word processing, and secretarial training. A minimum of one year of professional office experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in computer systems and data entry within databases is essential, as well as familiarity with word processing and multi-line telephone systems.
