Experienced Remote Medical Customer Service Representative – Healthcare Advocate and Community Liaison

As a remote medical customer service representative, you will play a vital role in acting as an advocate for our members and a liaison between our health plan and providers. Your primary goal will be to ensure the availability and access to care, promoting member education, and identifying and resolving systemic barriers that limit access to appropriate care. Job Overview In this expert-level role, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to member complaints and formal grievances, identifying potential access barriers, and resolving them in accordance with our grievance procedure. You will investigate and resolve access and cultural sensitivity issues, participate in local community organizations to acquire knowledge and insight regarding the special healthcare needs of our members, and update and revise educational materials as necessary. Key Responsibilities: Act as a primary contact for member advocacy groups, human services agencies, and state entities, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Establish a community presence, promoting member education and identifying areas for improvement in our healthcare services. Investigate and resolve access and cultural sensitivity issues, ensuring that our members receive the highest level of care and support. Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines, ensuring the protection of sensitive member information. Participate in local community organizations to stay informed about the special healthcare needs of our members and update our educational materials accordingly. Collaborate with our team to identify and resolve systemic barriers that limit access to care, ensuring that our members receive the best possible outcomes. Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in education. At least 3 years of customer service experience in a healthcare environment, showcasing your ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. Medicare and/or Medicaid experience, preferred, to ensure a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and the needs of our members. Bilingual skills in Spanish, preferred, to effectively communicate with our diverse member population. Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications will make you a stronger candidate: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, demonstrating your ability to work independently and manage your time effectively. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws, including HIPAA, to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
