Job Summary Our 2025 Data Science and Analytics Intern program is designed to provide current college students with challenging and rewarding experiences that apply their education to real-world problems. As a Data Science and Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborate with our analytics team, and develop a deep understanding of our business and technical approaches. This 12-week summer internship is an excellent chance to gain valuable exposure to our company's senior leaders, network with professionals in your field, and contribute to the growth of Trane Technologies. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the analytics team to develop an understanding of data, business, and technical approaches, and apply this knowledge to solve complex problems. Work with large data sets to extract insights, develop models, visualizations, reports, and provide actionable recommendations to internal customers. Utilize analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or other visualization software to analyze data and address business needs. View problems as opportunities and adapt quickly to new or changing business circumstances, demonstrating a proactive and innovative approach to challenges. Seek new information, skills, and experiences, and capitalize on learning opportunities to grow your career and contribute to the growth of Trane Technologies. Essential Qualifications Pursuing a BS/BA in a Technical or Analytics related field such as Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, or similar, with a cumulative overall GPA at or above 3.0. Minimum of one internship or work experience, and demonstrated leadership skills such as campus organizations, sports team captain, resident advisor, or exceptional leadership of work projects. U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. Coursework or experience utilizing some or all of the following: Python, R, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or other visualization software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with others in a positive work environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques, and experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark. Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with agile development methodologies. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C++, or Python, and experience with data mining and text analysis techniques.
