Job Overview In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing database systems, ensuring the availability and quality of the developed database, and defining end-users to guarantee that data is accessible in the right format, to the right users at the proper time. You will also be tasked with protecting the database from unauthorized access and attacks, using adequate data backup and transaction recovery techniques, and providing support and training to users for proactively managing data. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to analyze the performance of the database system, identify areas for improvement, and come up with new ways to protect and enhance the database system as per the requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop database systems according to the needs of the end-users, ensuring that they are scalable, secure, and efficient. Take care of the availability and quality of the developed database, keeping in mind the specialized roles of the end-users and the importance of data integrity. Define end-users and make sure that data is accessible in the right format, to the right users at the proper time, ensuring that data is handled in a secure and compliant manner. Make sure quick action is taken in response to the errors reported by the users, providing timely and effective support to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Protect the database from unauthorized access and attacks, using advanced security measures and best practices to safeguard sensitive data. Use adequate data backup and transaction recovery techniques, ensuring that data is properly backed up and can be recovered in case of a disaster or system failure. Provide support and train the users for proactively managing data, empowering them to make informed decisions and drive business growth. Keep analyzing the performance by performing tests and reporting it on metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize database performance. Come up with new ways for protecting and improving the database system as per the requirements, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data management. Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in computer science or a related field, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. You should also have proven experience as a Database Administrator or in other relevant roles, with a complete knowledge of data recovery, backup, and security. Familiarity with database designing and manipulation languages such as MySQL, Oracle, etc. is essential, as well as working experience with database administration tools and other third-party tools needed. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in computer science or a related field, with a focus on data management and administration. Certifications in database administration, such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.
