Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled remote customer service representative to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a customer service representative, you will be responsible for communicating with borrowers regarding federal student loan programs, resolving customer inquiries, taking loan payments, and providing repayment options. Key Responsibilities Respond to incoming borrower calls, chats, and make outbound calls in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled with empathy and understanding. Counsel and inform borrowers of their repayment options, deferments, and forbearance eligibility, taking payments and updating the borrower's account in an efficient and accurate manner. Locate needed information and minimize the time borrowers are put on hold, ensuring that all customer inquiries are resolved promptly and effectively. Maintain the security and privacy of the borrower, protecting both the borrower and our partners, and adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines. Work an 8-hour shift with a one 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks, managing your time effectively to meet performance targets and deliver exceptional customer service. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or a bachelor's degree preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in education and a commitment to ongoing learning and development. Ability to pass a pre-employment cognitive and personality assessment, which will evaluate your skills, abilities, and fit for the role. Must be able to obtain a Federal 5C Security Clearance and credit check, which is a requirement for working with federal student loan programs. Must live in or near the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a reliable and secure home workspace that meets our technical requirements. Excellent organization, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask, type while talking, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a remote or call center environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and resolving complex customer inquiries. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in software applications and technology, and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and mutual support.
