Job Overview The Chat Moderator position at blithequark is a flexible and remote opportunity that involves ensuring our official Discord server remains a positive and respectful environment for all users. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and community standards of our online space, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about community management, has excellent communication skills, and is comfortable with making decisions in a fast-paced online environment. Key Responsibilities Modifying and enforcing community guidelines to ensure all users are aware of and adhere to the rules of the Discord server. Deleting messages that violate the server's rules to maintain a clean and respectful chat environment. Banning users who have multiple and repeat violations of the rules, ensuring the community's safety and integrity. Muting users who have violated the rules, providing them with an opportunity to reflect on their actions and adhere to the guidelines in the future. Investigating reports made by users about violations of the server's rules, taking appropriate action based on the findings, and communicating with users when necessary. Collaborating with other moderators and the blithequark team to develop and implement community engagement strategies and improve the overall user experience. Staying updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in community moderation to continuously improve the management of our Discord server. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age or older. Hold a High School Diploma or GED. Have experience in community moderation or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing online communities or forums. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with users of diverse backgrounds and ages. Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Discord and its moderation tools, or the willingness to learn and adapt quickly. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
