Experienced Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative – Medicaid Member Support Specialist for Iowa Residents

About the Role We are seeking a Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative to provide exceptional support to Medicaid members in Iowa. As a Tier 1 representative, you will be the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing program recipients and affiliates. You will provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles, accurately documenting enrollment requests and status changes. You will also enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone. Key Responsibilities Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates Provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes Enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Family Care rules/guidelines and other related program policies Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have a basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes. You should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers. You should also be able to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback, achieve results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment, and work with people of diverse backgrounds. Essential Qualifications High School diploma or GED Background check required Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA Ability to work in a remote call center environment Excellent customer service skills Excellent phone etiquette skills Reliable internet access Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a call center or customer service role Knowledge of Medicaid programs and policies Experience working with diverse populations Ability to navigate a computer and utilize software applications Excellent typing and grammar skills What We Offer At blithequark, we offer a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 per hour, paid training, and equipment provided. You will also have the opportunity to work in a remote call center environment, with a full-time schedule and full benefits.
