Position: As a Registered Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy evaluation and services to qualified students, ages 3-22. Key Responsibilities As a Registered Occupational Therapist with our district, your key responsibilities will include: Participating in the pre-referral process to generate modifications and accommodations to be implemented in regular education settings. Obtaining and relaying information to and from parents and other medical personnel relating to a student's physical status and needs. Conducting screenings and evaluations relating to occupational therapy needs and documenting results. Providing input to diagnostic and placement teams relating to a student's OT evaluation and placement. Developing therapy-related goals and objectives as part of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). Designing and implementing activities to help students meet the goals and objectives of their IEP. Instructing teachers, parents, and students regarding activities and equipment, in lieu of, or as follow-up to therapy. Submitting reports to the Medicaid Reimbursement Specialist for direct billing/reimbursement for services provided. Completing documentation in accordance with Federal, State, and District requirements. Providing lifting and handling instruction and training to educational personnel. Managing budgets, resources, and supplies. Performing other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. An Arizona Occupational Therapy License. Experience working within the school setting. Knowledge of the field of occupational therapy, special education requirements, and Federal and State regulations. Skill in administering pediatric occupational therapy, conducting occupational therapy screenings and evaluations, and interpreting results. Skill in setting appropriate occupational therapy goals according to individual needs. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Fluency in both Spanish and English. Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities. Knowledge of District and Department policies and procedures. Experience with Medicaid reimbursement and billing procedures.
