About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our PD group, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with different disciplines to conceptualize ideas and solutions for complex design problems. Your expertise in design, engineering, and problem-solving will be essential in creating, modeling, evaluating, and analyzing new designs. You will lead design reviews, contribute to peer design reviews, and present your work to cross-functional teams and leadership. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with various disciplines, including Modern Design, Operations, and cross-functional engineering teams Conceptualize ideas and solutions for complex design problems Create, model, evaluate, and analyze new designs Lead design reviews and contribute to peer design reviews Present your work to cross-functional teams and leadership Produce detailed specifications and drawings Communicate with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness Conduct failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to determine root cause and implement corrective actions Validate and document designs through various stages Develop deep technical knowledge by taking design from concept to production Ensure that designs meet aesthetic and functional requirements to deliver top-tier hardware to our customers Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A BS in Mechanical Engineering Solid engineering fundamentals and high personal motivation Design insight: precise mechanical intuition, creative problem-solving, curious nature, attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills: written, visual, and verbal. Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorming sessions Experience creating parts and assemblies in 3D CAD Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical reliability analysis methods, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing Working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and modeling Flexibility and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment Ability to travel internationally (up to 20%) Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies Experience with design tools and software, such as CAD, CAE, and FEA Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
