Job Overview: Private High School Science Tutor (C) We are seeking an experienced and passionate Private High School Science Tutor to join our team of dedicated educators. As a tutor with SiSTEM Tutoring Agency LLC, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, providing personalized academic support in High School Science. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and communicating with parents and teachers to ensure a comprehensive approach to learning. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on High School Science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions, either remotely or in-person, to provide academic support and mentorship to students. Assess student progress, identify areas of improvement, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to ensure optimal learning outcomes. Communicate effectively with parents and teachers to keep them informed of student progress, challenges, and achievements. Prepare students for standardized tests, such as the STAAR exam, and provide test preparation strategies to enhance their performance. Maintain accurate records of student progress, lesson plans, and communication with parents and teachers. Essential Qualifications: A minimum of 60 credit hours of college coursework or a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in a relevant field. Certification as a teacher with SBEC or other state licensure certification, or experience as a retired teacher with similar certification. At least 1-2 years of experience in mentoring, tutoring, or teaching in a classroom or school environment, with a focus on High School Science. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Eligibility to work in the United States, with a valid Social Security Number. Reliability and commitment to tutoring for the duration of the assignment, with the possibility of extension. Ability to pass a background check and maintain a professional, safe, and supportive learning environment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a teacher or tutor, particularly in High School Science subjects. Expertise in multiple areas of science, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those who are learning to speak English. Familiarity with standardized tests, such as the SAT Subject Tests, ACT, or AP exams, and experience in test preparation. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
