We're now seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a remote support and float capacity. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our pharmacists in delivering exceptional service. As a remote support and float Pharmacy Technician, you'll have the opportunity to work across different locations, developing a deeper understanding of our operations and expanding your skillset. Key Responsibilities Accurate Prescription Filling: Count, measure, label, and package medications with precision, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. Exceptional Customer Service: Provide personalized support to patients, addressing their needs and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain optimal medication and supply levels, placing orders and managing inventory to minimize stockouts and overstocking. Electronic Health Records: Enter prescription information into our computer system, maintaining accurate patient profiles and records. Insurance and Billing: Verify insurance information, process claims, and communicate with insurance companies to ensure coverage for prescribed medications. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to prepare medications, manage workflow, and ensure regulatory compliance. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA requirements, to maintain patient confidentiality and safety. Pharmacy Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, adhering to safety protocols and standards. 340B Eligibility: Review outside prescriber prescriptions for 340B eligibility and document in the electronic health record. Refill Requests: Request refills from providers on behalf of patients, ensuring timely access to medications. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned, supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Pharmacy Technician Certification: PTCB or NHA certification is required. For Washington locations, an active Pharmacy Technician Certification license with the WA Department of Health is necessary at the time of hire. For Idaho locations, an active Certified Pharmacy Technician Registration license with the ID State Board of Pharmacy is required at the time of hire. Float positions require both ID and WA licensure within 120 days of hire. Experience with Third-Party Billing: Proficiency in third-party billing systems and processes is essential. Electronic Health Records: Experience with electronic health records is required. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary for effective patient interaction and teamwork. Compassion and Teamwork: A patient-centered approach and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are vital. Multitasking and Adaptability: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is required. Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and applications is necessary. BLS Certification: Current BLS (CPR/AED) certification is required. Valid Driver's License: For float positions, a valid driver's license and insurance are required. Physical Demands and Work Environment As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll need to be able to: Move Around the Facility: Move around the facility between one-third and two-thirds of the day. Use Hands and Reach: Use hands and reach with arms over two-thirds of the day. Communicate Effectively: Communicate with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals over two-thirds of the day. Lifting and Moving: Lift and move up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
