Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our team, responsible for overseeing payroll team resources and essential functions, including processing and reconciling payroll files and associated deposits for all plans. Key Responsibilities Lead a high-performing team through recruitment, development, and performance management, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork Provide guidance to resolve escalated issues or concerns, ensuring timely and effective solutions Ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity Recommend innovative programs or processes to achieve results, driving continuous improvement and innovation Coach and develop associates to foster a culture that ensures a cohesive team environment, building long-term loyalty between Ameritas, partners, and customers Collaborate with internal resources on issues, system changes, or other topics that impact customers or stakeholders, promoting effective communication and coordination Oversight of key processes, including: Payroll process for plans through Relius recordkeeping system Trade execution, including reconciliation, forfeiture processing, and year-end processing Transaction verification reporting Census updates Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, with a strong foundation in payroll, accounting, or a related field 3-5 years of retirement plans payroll experience required, with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations Less than 2 years of supervisory experience required, with a proven ability to lead and manage teams Relius proficiency strongly preferred, with experience working with recordkeeping systems and software Intermediate knowledge of STATA preferred, with a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set Strong Excel skills preferred, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a related field, such as accounting, finance, or business administration Professional certifications, such as CPP or FPC, demonstrating expertise in payroll and retirement plans Experience working with retirement plans, including 401(k), pension, and other defined benefit plans Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL guidelines Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. You will also need to be highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
