Job Overview As a Remote Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices, facilitating patient healthcare needs and providing exceptional customer service. This part-time role requires a minimum of 24 hours per week and offers a competitive benefits package, including part-time benefits eligibility and paid time off. Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Communicate directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours, documenting and sending messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 2-5 years of experience in healthcare or customer service preferred Typing speed of minimum 35 wpm with 90% accuracy required Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, as this is a safety-sensitive position Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri Preferred Qualifications Recent healthcare experience, particularly in a customer-facing role Strong knowledge of electronic health records and insurance basics Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service in a variety of situations Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development, as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.
