Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Mentoring Teach online social work courses as assigned, ensuring that course content is delivered in a clear, engaging, and effective manner. Develop and maintain online course materials, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments. Provide academic support and guidance to students through various means, including email, phone, and online office hours. Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment that promotes student engagement, participation, and success. Maintain currency in the field of social work, incorporating relevant and contemporary issues into course content. Abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies, ensuring compliance with institutional standards and regulations. Participate in departmental meetings and activities, contributing to the development and improvement of the social work program. Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in social work. Certification in online teaching or a willingness to obtain such certification. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience teaching online courses, preferably in social work or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in social work practice, education, or research. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Essential Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of social work principles, theories, and practices. Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs. Proficiency in online course management systems, such as BRCC's learning management system.
