About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Online ESL Teacher to deliver engaging and interactive English lessons to Chinese children aged 4-12. Key Responsibilities Teach English to Chinese children aged 4-12 through 25-minute full immersion English language classes, either one-on-one or in groups Prepare for each class by familiarizing yourself with the teaching materials and platform, and by preparing props, visual aids, and other teaching tools as needed Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of your students and align with our curriculum Provide feedback and support to your students, helping them to track their progress and achieve their goals Collaborate with our team to develop and improve our teaching materials and methods Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continually improve your teaching skills and knowledge Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements: Be a native English speaker from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland Hold a recognized teaching certificate, such as TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, TKT, or a local teaching certificate Have at least one year of teaching experience, or equivalent experience in mentoring, tutoring, or alternative education Be available to work a variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the Beijing time zone (8:00am - 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday) Have a reliable computer, internet connection, and headset, and be comfortable using technology to deliver online lessons Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications and experience are highly desirable: Experience teaching English as a second language, particularly to children Knowledge of Chinese culture and language (although this is not required, as our classes are 100% English) Experience with online teaching platforms and technology A degree in Education, English, or a related field Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching and learning Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong technical skills, with the ability to use online platforms and tools to deliver high-quality lessons Career Growth and Development At Simple International, we are committed to the growth and development of our teachers.
